You'll needstrength and expertise in your chosen weapon. You needn't spendthem on alchemy or ancient magic, since you will be able to read manybooks which will give you 5 points of experience of either. So unless I say, e.g., "turn right", when Isay SW I expect you to look at the map and use the title square of thetown for guidance.Įxperience points: as ever, husband them carefully. Anddon't forget that, in the wild, if you don't need to fight a creature, the best policy is to run away.ĭirections: it is difficult, in not impossible, to direct you exactlyto where you need to be. A fight which should last a few seconds can take forever. Annoyingly, your enemies back away fromyou while you attack them vigorously, so mainly you are hitting thinair. It is also a good idea, if you are going to march into enemyterritory, to get nasties to attack you and follow you into it thuscreating havoc and confusion. Alternatively (more difficult), if you can, try and make sureyour enemy is between the shooter/magic user and you. You needn't do every quest (just don't take it on for the orcs andHashishin, merely enough to get them friendly), and you can do things inwhichever order you want or can.Ĭombat: the rules are, take out first the long range/magic usersfirst. But, of course, you must wait to favour oneor the other towards the end of the game. The idea is to gain the confidence of the orcs by doing things for themwhile finding out who is prepared to side with you in taking the townfrom them for the rebels. Ifsuccessful, you come back and get your reward and experience points from You must also findthe teleporter stone which will bring you back to each one of them. After that, you take off and investigate the surroundings of the townwhere you will presumably find what you are meant to find. You should speak toeveryone with a name and take on their particular quest and you shouldfamiliarize yourself thoroughly with every location. In general terms, and in each town, you should refrain from stealing:though you can and must go into every building. You are also going to need tons of gold, so pick up *everything* (forinstance, all weapons after a battle) and sell it. "Bundles of weapons" are things you cannot getenough of, so always look out for them - be aware that picking them upsometimes angers people around you. Therefore, whenever there is something you must collect for a laterquest, I will say "hang on to it" so that you'll know to keep, look outfor and collect it. You have not found a single one yet, you might be inclined to throw yourcomputer out of the window. For instance, boozeberries are very hard to find at the bestof times - but somebody will suddenly ask for lots. One of the characteristics of this game is that, for the endless sidequests, people are going to ask for all manner of things which of courseyou haven't been collecting, there being no good reason to do so: and, confronted with the request, you have to stop everything and go lookingall over. This is the silliest game I've ever come across. This means you end up with a long list of quests you cannot possiblycomplete, since to do so would jeopardise the end result. You must just do enough "non-fatal" quests tokeep all sides happy until the time comes for you to take a decision.
Walkthrough for gothic 3 plus#
Plus all manner of people will direct you to take a particularside. With the Hashishin (allies of the orcs) it will be thesame. In fact, what you have to do is to preserve a balance: orcs willrequest that you kill everybody else and they, in turn, will ask you tokill the orcs. Wrong! It took me many hours of tedious gameplayliberating towns from the orcs to realise I was NOT meant to do that. Naturally enough, you think that's what you aresupposed to do. The game starts with you and your mates bashing orcs (as usual) andliberating a town. On thecontrary, all I'm aiming to do is to complete the game with a minimumamount of effort. So I'll make an effort and try to write a solution of sorts, eventhough I have no idea if I have given the correct order and I certainlyhave not even bothered to discover all the possible quests. However, loyal types out there will want to play Gothic 3 to the bitterend.
Walkthrough for gothic 3 full#
Worse still, the game is full of bugs, stutters and is very slow. The maps are pathetic and inaccurate, and therendering of persons, objects and animals is totally unconvincing. All that can be said aboutGothic 3 is that is much bigger which means that finding people andplaces takes forever. EvenGothic 2 had better graphics than these.
Walkthrough for gothic 3 series#
After waiting for solong and expecting something as spectacular as Oblivion, the faithfulįans of the great series Gothic cannot believe they are gettingsomething no greater than a continuation of Gothic 2/add-on. This has to be the greatest disappointment ever.
